For Caity Simmers, surfing started as a family affair. Growing up in Oceanside, California, she spent a majority of time surfing waves alongside her parents and younger brother. And while what started out as a fun activity, Caity was soon dominating the competition scene, winning the USA U-16 Girls World Junior Championships before moving onto and finding some wins in the WSL Junior Pro series. At just 15 years old, she won the US Open of Surfing, making her the second-youngest winner in the event’s history. She made her Olympic debut in the 2024 games, competing in women’s shortboard, and rounded off her year with a World Title. When she’s not on her board, she’s behind the lens, directing and editing her own surf content.
