When Nora started skating at around age 13, she didn’t see a lot of people like her at the skate park — or any people at all really. Growing up in rural Massachusetts, the skate scene was pretty desolate and she spent most of her time skating solo. After graduating high school, she set out for California where an encounter with Jason Celeya of Welcome Skateboards altered the trajectory of her career in skateboarding. After going pro with the company, she went on to win the Vans Park Series World Champions and become the first woman on the Adidas skate team, making her not only a top skater but the most recognizable woman in the sport. As she continues in her career, she’s working with organizations like Skate Like A Girl to help younger generations of female skaters feel empowered in the male-dominated sport. When she’s not skating, she’s finding solace in her artwork, a lifelong outlet she turns to to give her mind and body a break from skateboarding. Combining her two passions, Nora designed and launched a gender-inclusive skateboarding collection with Adidas. Nora’s made a lasting impact on the industry — and we know this is just the beginning.
