John Dudley didn’t start out as an archer. He started out as a hunter who turned to professional archery as a way to sharpen his hunting skills. After he started competing, Mathews promised him a contract if he won Rookie of the Year — and he did. From there, he went on to win 45 top 3 finishes in archery competitions, and represented the US Archery team. With almost 40 years of experience under his belt, John is a go-to teacher in the industry, hosting seminars for national and olympic teams, as well offering classes through his platform Nock On Archery. In his off time, he can be found spending time with his family, and “punches out” from mid August to October every year for elk hunting season.en they occur over a glass of Kentucky bourbon.

John originally founded Nock On Archery to provide free archery lessons to hunters in the hopes of promoting a more positive image of hunting. Today, the brand is a well known resource for hunters and archers alike, featuring an e-commerce store to purchase custom gear as well as a podcast, Nock On Podcast and TV show, Nock On TV.
